Job title: IT Applications Manager

Salary: Starting at $122k to 150k depending on experience.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm. This is a hybrid role that requires three (3) days in office per week.

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon

The IT Applications Manager will be responsible for overseeing the team that manages core business applications infrastructure ERP, MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, and other technology. Manages support personnel to ensure a high level of customer service to the organization.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position are typically acquired through on the job training and prior work experience with Infrastructure hardware and software.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years prior application administration, development or related work experience, preferably in a fast paced, multi-location environment
  • Minimum 3 years prior supervisory experience over an application support team.
  • ERP experience preferred
  • Project Management experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of on-prem, web technologies, mobile applications, databases and cloud-based web applications (e.g. Azure, AWS, etc...) preferred
  • Understanding of implementation methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills; capable of understanding system configurations and the interrelationships of an application architecture.
  • Industry knowledge of retail, distribution and/or manufacturing preferred

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Demonstrable leadership skills to supervise and direct technical professionals and communicate directly with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company employee records and finance records, particularly, sales figures and pricing.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies and protocols as set forth in the Employees Handbook.
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to seek out vulnerabilities and resolve them before they occur
  • Ability to solve problems and research solutions both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to communicate detailed instructions to others in a clear and concise manner

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of assigned staff performing a variety of work activities within the Applications section of the Information Technology Division
  • Provide input and collaboration in the analysis, selection, deployment, integration, maintenance, support, operation, and documentation of enterprise applications systems and technologies to meet a broad range of business needs in support of the company's operational goals.
  • Recommends and implements improvements and modifications to enterprise systems
  • Assist with project management of application projects including scheduling projects and resources, and monitoring project timelines ensuring deliverables are produced on time and on budget
  • Build and maintain business and cross functional relationships to proactively meet customer needs / address issues
  • Establishes protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure business applications are operating for the benefit of the organization
  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships. Defines the scope of service contract, manages contracts and assesses the expenses associated with the service in order to ensure committed SLAs are backed by backend agreements from the suppliers.
  • Participates in the selection of staff; provides or coordinates staff training; provides performance feedback; and assists employees to correct deficiencies
  • Oversee and approve software purchases for departmental and company technology needs.
  • Discuss work progress and obstacles with assigned team and or direct reports, and provide advice, guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback
  • Establish measurable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals
  • Mentor and lead assigned resources in their respective career development
  • Work closely with the IT Management team in planning, directing, and implementing short- and long-range objectives, including budget planning, and evaluating results and progress toward implementing the IT strategic plan.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

The primary working conditions are an office environment with a computer. The job may require very occasional travel to PARR locations in the Northwest

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day
  • Ability to stoop, bend, walk, and effectively communicate at levels normal for someone performing work with the general public primarily in an office environment. Communication forms can include but are not limited to: in-person verbal and non-verbal, written, e-mail, telephone and public speaking to medium size groups.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
