Institutional Research Analyst - Data Analysis

Ellucian is seeking an Institutional Research Analyst to join our dynamic team dedicated to driving transformative technology initiatives within the higher education sector. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing educational excellence by leveraging data-driven insights to enhance student learning outcomes. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to student performance, engagement, and learning methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data collection, analysis, and creation of visualizations.

Where will you make an impact

• Performance metrics: Assist in setting up reports that pull in data from college systems to analyze student performance, faculty activity and overall learning management system activities.
• Survey creation: Working directly with the Client’s academic leaders and staff to formulate relevant research questions, use data to inform decision making, and set goals and strategic direction
• Development of Actionable Insights: Combining analytics, interactions, and workflows in ways that support transforming insights into actions that improve student success and business efficiencies. 
• Collaborating with Client’s staff to ensure that course-embedded assessment strategies allow for the collection and analysis of learning outcomes data as required for accreditation reporting needs and continuous improvement.
• Using a robust analytics approach that includes descriptive, diagnostic, and where applicable predictive, and prescriptive reports. Areas of interest include data-driven services, business-process improvements and ROI, and academic program performance. 
• Working in collaboration with the client and team, engage in data quality initiatives around course development improvement. This work will include selecting and examining data to generate new strategic information, data management, Data Analysis, developing reports that serve the real-time needs of decision-makers, and leverage data visualization to enhance operational efficiencies. 

What you will bring

• Experience in Data Analysis, research methodology, statistical techniques, and creation of data visualizations
• Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Moodle), student information systems (e.g., Colleague, Banner), and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Smartsheet).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to independently manage projects and deadlines.
