The Bureau of Human Resources, Region 2 is currently recruiting to fill an Institution Human Resources Director vacancy, at either the entry or Advanced level. This position will be located at the Department of Corrections central office in Madison, WI.

Position Summary
This position provides expertise and leadership in the employment relations and personnel functions of the Institution, which includes administration and coordination of employment relations, position classification, staffing, compensation, payroll and benefits, supervisory training, equal employment opportunity and other personnel related programs, as well as supervision of Human Resources (HR) staff.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $68,640 and $90,396 per year, with excellent benefits. Salary will be determined in accordance with the current Wisconsin Compensation Plan. The pay schedule/range for the entry level is 81-04 and the Advanced is 81-03. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. Region 2 will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOA, Region 2 employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
• Experience interpreting, applying, and communicating Human Resources related information such as laws, policies, and procedures.
• Training and/or experience conducting complex recruitment and selection activities such as developing recruitment plans, conducting position analysis, and developing position descriptions.
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:
• Managing Employment Relations activities such as performance management, harassment complaints, conducting investigations, and grievances.
• Evaluating, developing, and implementing policies and procedures.
• Working in a Human Resources related position with the State of Wisconsin.
• Working with a Human Resources information system such as PeopleSoft.
• Performing supervision or lead-worker activities (e.g. assigning/directing/evaluating work, hiring, training, etc.).
