As the Director of Wealth Management, you’ll lead a dynamic team of Advisors through coaching, development, and the implementation of innovative sales and financial planning strategies. You will collaborate with the VP on long-term planning and work alongside leaders in various departments to expand and cultivate membership relationships through cutting-edge Wealth Management, financial planning, and insurance solutions. In addition, you will coordinate wholesaler relationships and stay informed about industry and regulatory trends to ensure the ongoing top performance of our innovative program.

What You’ll Do

  • Foster a high-performance environment for Advisors to build and retain member relationships, setting clear goals and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Develop Advisor metrics and business plans, ensuring timely completion of required training and accurate documentation.
  • Coach Advisors on financial planning, investment strategies, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Lead sales campaigns and manage a referral-based sales pipeline, contributing to advisory account solutions with the VP.
  • Mentor Advisors to act in the best interest of clients, comply with regulations, and establish strong branch relationships to drive referrals and business growth.
  • Develop and refine scalable sales and service processes for efficient and consistent value delivery.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulations, and technologies to provide timely recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the VP and Marketing department to enhance marketing strategies and become the preferred Wealth Management provider for members and employees.
  • Cultivate relationships with credit union leadership to drive Wealth Management education and member referrals.
  • Lead sales meetings, coordinate education sessions, and mentor team members to stay abreast of industry changes.
  • Educate and motivate UW Credit Union employees on investments and insurance, collaborating on training and member education seminars.
  • Achieve and report Wealth Management sales, service, and cross-functional referral goals to ensure Advisors meet monthly and annual scorecard results.
  • Responsible for inclusive excellence, essential leadership duties, and the development of team and self while continuously striving to achieve UWCU’s goals, strategies & critical measures.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial institution Investment Services Retail Sales program
  • Licensed in the following:
    • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (63 and 65).
    • Life and Health Insurance license
  • Licensed in the following is preferred:
    • FINRA Series 24
    • CFP® designation
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results in the sale of financial products and services.
  • Strong understanding of investment and insurance products, and financial planning.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner both internally and externally.
  • Strong sales orientation, interpersonal skills, and Emotional Intelligence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to write clear, concise business documents, memos, and e-mail, facilitate team meetings, and give presentations.
  • Ability to travel between the Madison and Milwaukee market
