This position supports L&A managers and supervisors with the daily functions of L&A’s Human Resources department including employee administration, performance management, health insurance and related benefits, retirement accounts and services, timesheets and payroll, personnel data reporting, and general guidance on L&A policies and procedures.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Administers and facilitates performance management processes (solicit performance feedback, schedule review meetings, prepare feedback summaries and reports).
- Maintains employee records and personnel management database systems.
- Administers new employee onboarding and orientation, including background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Administers employee offboarding actions, termination documentation; conducts exit interviews and shares feedback with line management as appropriate.
- Assists with semi-monthly timesheet review and payroll processing.
- Handles benefits-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff; coordinates open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs; administers retirement accounts and services.
- Processes complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment; assists in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Assists in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational charts, and contributes to the development of policies.
- Provides personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, local employment laws and regulations, and L&A company policies and procedures.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by studying/reviewing trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources and employment law; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional and technical publications; establishing and maintaining professional liaison/networks and subject-matter experts; and participation in professional associations/affiliations.
- Contributes to team effort by focusing on L&A core values, goals, and objectives; accomplishing tasks and assignments in a professional and timely manner; keeping appropriate members informed regarding the status of task and assignments, establishing and maintaining professional working relationships; working amicably, cooperatively, and productively with team members; assisting others as needed, and accomplishing other duties/tasks as assigned/ directed or necessity dictates.
- Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive personnel identifiable information
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and related software.
- Ability to quickly learn the organization’s personnel management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours to provide required support as necessary.
- At least 3-5 years of Human Resources experience to include Performance management and Timekeeping.
LOCATION: This position is located in either Oakridge, TN or Albuquerque, NM.
