Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as Human Resources Generalist to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The successful candidate will develop and administer the full scope of Human Resources Policies and Programs to support Corporate and Departmental objectives. Duties will include, but are not limited to, planning, organizing, executing and interpreting a variety of basic Human Resources Policies, Federal and State Regulations, and similar documentation to prepare routine procedures, reports, requests, programs, and correspondence.
The initial focus of the role will include subcontractor and procurement liaison , official documentation, letter and other writing assignments, and performance review coordination. In addition, participate in other HR functional areas including employee relations, salary and benefits administration, investigation of sensitive matters, etc. The Generalist duties and focus may evolve over time as needs within the organization change or emerge.
Exempt Grade 30-34
Minimum Requirements:
+ Master-s with four (4) years professional experience,
+ Bachelor-s with six (6) years professional experience,
+ Associate's with ten (10) years of professional experience, or
+ High School Diploma/Equivalency with fourteen (14) years of professional experience.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in business writing. Business writing may be in writing grants, proposals in response to RFPs, business development, federal/state requests, job descriptions, policies, or other applicable documents.
+ Experience in functions such as interviewing/selection, salary/compensation analysis, employee coaching/development, staff augmentation/subcontract oversight or employee investigations.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Preference given to candidate with Human Resources Generalist experience such as salary planning, employee relations, labor relations and Human Resources database administration.
+ Degree or college coursework in Human Resources, business administration, or related disciplines is preferred.
+ Business certifications (SHRM, Microsoft, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) are desired.
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
+ Previous WIPP experience a plus.
Starting salary $76,724 per year *
*Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
