POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Compliance Specialist coordinates initiatives and tasks for leadership development programs/projects and supports the Human Resources Department, Training and Development Manager, and program leads. This job is in a fast-paced environment where deadlines and constant changes are the norm. Other responsibilities include support for the design, development, and implementation of different educational programs and strategies. In addition, this role might require occasionally facilitating or producing development programs for leaders at various organizational levels. Areas of focus: Leadership Development, Career Pathing, Leadership Summits, and all mandated training and development focus. This role is 100% on-site.

This position supports management and organization in new hire and onboarding, recordkeeping, employee communications, and performance management. The Training and Professional Development Human Resources Generalist works closely with the Training and Development Manager and program leaders across the agency and with external stakeholders. This role reports to the Training and Development Manager, who reports to Apna Ghar’s Director of Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Collaborate with the Training and Development Manager to understand the career development interests and possible growth strategies and/or opportunities within Apna Ghar Inc.
  • Provide administrative support to staff, managing databases, standardizing documents, and filing systems.
  • Ensure that training and development requirements comply with grants and state laws.
  • Assist with requests, such as compiling materials requested for audits or special projects.
  • Generate necessary reporting for internal or external purposes.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  A bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of experience and education

Experience: A minimum of two years of Human Resources Skills, HR Compliance, and Training and Professional Development

  • Must ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards, including ACA, HIPAA, and others, as applicable.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and design skills
  • Strong communication skills - verbal, in writing, and presentation. Must articulate ideas, speak to leaders, and have presentation skills.
  • Project management skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in Learning & Development and/or Talent space
  • Experience working with different levels of leadership.
  • Strong understanding of staffing principles, laws, and procedures and a solid working knowledge of recruitment/ employment programs
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff within the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to meet recurring deadlines and maintain tracking systems related to Human Resources and recruiting information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various recruiting techniques and experience in online/ social media recruiting
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State laws.
  • Flexibility with work schedule; some travel, including occasional evenings and weekends, may be required.
  • Knowledge of and a passion for human rights work
  • Fluency in a second language preferred

Licenses/Certification:

  • 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training is required within six months of employment. This can be obtained through Apna Ghar at no cost
  • HR certifications are a plus.

Computer and software knowledge:

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel. PowerPoint),
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact, Survey Monkey Canva, and other survey and design software preferred.
