Job Description
- Provide day-to-day direction in all transactional aspects of human resources for NY locations.
- Act as the primary resource for team members' questions, requests, etc. in a professional, service-minded, and positive disposition.
- Instill and support leaders in compliance with company policy, procedures, and documentation.
- Support with direct follow-up for progressive discipline and employee relation investigations under the guidance of the HR Director.
- Lead and encourage employee engagement efforts and initiatives.
- Support follow-up in worker’s compensation cases and recording of OSHA logs as needed.
- Support Open Enrollment annually by acting as a benefit champion ensuring all employees are aware and educated on benefits, including local partnerships.
- Directly support onboarding of NY-based employees through I9 verification, step-by-step instruction, and processing through the HRIS.
- Ensures all employees are current in completing training and local certifications as necessary for employment, including but not limited to: annual sexual harassment training, food handling, and alcohol safety training.
- Processes NY unemployment claims, acting as the representative of the organization as needed.
- Process NY paid family leave claims, communicating updates to the Director of HR on a timely and regular basis.
- Acts as the HRIS champion in NY to ensure complete utilization of technology, directly assisting with new implementations or updating existing ones.
- Support and train as needed the utilization of HRIS system to ensure leadership is able to fully utilize the time and labor functions, talent, and scheduling platforms.
- Assist in onboarding and deboarding processes, while providing a welcoming and pleasant demeanor to team members.
- Participate in monthly Leadership in Training HR meetings in conjunction with other HR team members.
- Manage company asset distribution in HRIS, ensuring a timely return of property.
- Escalate HR matters appropriately to the Director of Human Resources to ensure timely, compliant, and professional responses are consistently held to Hogsalt’s standards.
- Assist in monitoring ACA dashboard and informing employees of potential changes to their ACA status.
- Leads and coordinates Open Call alongside the NYC Director of Operations, including welcoming candidates, coordinating on-site interviews, and following up with interviewees.
- Assists the Recruiting, Training, and Development Director with all NYC training initiatives, including leading and executing quarterly on-site training sessions and continued education workshops.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work independently, while able to identify concerns in need of escalation.
- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Experience with Workday preferred.
- Spanish Bilingual required.
Education and Experience:
- At least three to four years of related experience.
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience with New York employment law preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal and State employment regulatory bodies.
- Full-time, Exempt
- Earn up to $90k per year dependent on experience.
- Typically Monday through Friday schedule, with some on-call availability on nights and weekends.
- Reports to the Human Resources Director
