van Zelm Heywood & Shadford, Inc. is looking to employ an HR Generalist with excellent analytical and communication skills to support a successful and growing Mechanical and Electrical Engineering firm headquartered in Farmington, Connecticut.
Job Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
- Consistent Recruiting, Hiring & On-Boarding of excellent staff.
- Employee Development and Performance, including administration of the review process.
- Employee Recognition & Engagement, including Wellness Initiatives and Employee Relations events.
- Training, counseling, and coaching staff.
- Maintain and implement policies and maintain employee communications.
- Benefits Coordination and Administration for enrollments and changes, from hiring to terminations, including COBRA & ACA reporting.
- Leave of Absence Administration.
- Maintain and report on workplace Health, Safety, and Privacy.
- Perform necessary administrative duties.
- Maintain employee files.
- Payroll Processing and PTO tracking.
- Back-up support to Finance.
- Other related Human Resources duties.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Psychology, or another area related to Human Resources.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
- PHR or SPHR preferred but not required.
- Experience with Paylocity, and Deltek Software helpful but not required.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be highly confidential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and employees.
