At Cheba Hut HQ, we are growing and evolving our franchise operations and support. In support of this goal, we are making key additions to our team and are looking for an HR professional to join the HQ squad as an HR Generalist.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day HR operations for Cheba Hut HQ, as well as the company -operated Cheba Hut locations in Colorado and Arizona. The HR Generalist will provide support to the HR Manager, and will have the primary responsibility of coordinating and supporting key points in the employee life cycle, including talent acquisition/hiring, onboarding and offboarding, and benefits enrollment. The HR Generalist will be involved in ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, will be responsible for maintaining employee records (digital and physical), and administering payroll for HQ and company-operated shops.
This position is based 100% in office, and the successful candidate must be able to reliably commute, Monday-Friday, to Cheba Hut HQ in Fort Collins.
Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition Coordination
- Guide hiring managers through the talent acquisition process
- Coordinate interview with hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process
Onboarding and Offboarding Coordination & Execution
- Communicate with key departments to ensure new hires are set up for success on first day
- Coordinate Cheba 101 Sessions with department heads
- Guide new hires through onboarding process
- Coordinate and execute employee offboarding process including conducting exit interviews, return company-issued devices/keys, communicating with key departments regarding employee departure
Benefits Administration Support
- Work with HR Manager to plan and execute annual benefits open enrollment
- Conduct benefits offering meetings with new hires
- Updates benefits premium deductions in HRIS as needed
- Prepare COBRA notices as needed
HRIS / Employee Record Maintenance
- File and maintain employee records in both digital (HRIS) and physical filing systems
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll for company-operated shops and HQ

Experience, Skills & Abilities
- Previous experience in HR role (2+ years)
- Restaurant / hospitality industry experience a plus
- PHR / SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Knowledge of labor laws (CO & AZ a plus) and HR best practices
- Familiarity (experience preferred) with recruiting / talent acquisition, onboarding processes, benefits administration, and employee engagement strategies
- Familiarity with Paylocity or other HRIS preferred
- Experience with payroll administration preferred
- Ability to consistently maintain a high level of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and judgement
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion in handling confidential information
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt and react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and comfortable learning new technology platforms and skills
- Experience effectively utilizing project management platforms (monday.com, Trello, etc.) preferred
Working Conditions
- Ability to work, at minimum, an 8-hour shift in an office environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to communicate via voice (phone) and writing (email)
- Ability to lift up to 15lbs at times
