Lastly, our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. With nine office locations and a staff of 350, Martin/Martin engineers regularly perform work across the United States and internationally.
Martin/Martin is seeking an experienced HR Generalist. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a crucial role in executing complex HR processes. Your expertise will be essential in handling benefits, recruiting, data integrity, policy interpretation, training development, employee relations, and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance. You'll maintain a strong understanding of state and federal laws to ensure compliance with applicable labor regulations. Additionally, you'll implement new technologies and functionalities within the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) while ensuring the accuracy of source data. In this role, you'll lead one or more functional areas within the Human Resources team.
Examples Of Responsibilities

  • Assist with the Full Employee Lifecycle:
    • From recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding, you'll support employees throughout their entire journey within the organization.
  • Compliance Reporting:
    • Assist with compliance reports related to Affirmative Action Plans (AAP), California Pay Data, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and other relevant regulations.
  • Employee Support and Guidance:
    • Provide timely and accurate information to employees and managers regarding company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Confidential Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with privacy laws.
  • HR Program Development:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Stay Informed on HR Laws:
    • Keep up-to-date with relevant HR laws and regulations, adapting processes as needed.
  • Employee Relations Support:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • HRIS Management:
    • Assist in managing and maintaining the HRIS system, ensuring accurate employee data management and reporting. Implement new technologies and functionalities within the system.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of six years' experience in human resources
  • Handles confidential and sensitive information with integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with managers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS and ability to learn new software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to coach, communicate, and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels and across a broad range of functional areas
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak clearly and maintain composure in confrontational situations
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in engineering firms, professional services firms, or other firms with technically focused employees
  • Certification in HR (PHR, SPHR, or similar)
