JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator provides a wide variety of administrative support to the HR team and assists with the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of Human Resources and general administrative responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the HR Manager or Generalist, creates offer letters for Hiring Managers
- Initiates background checks and pre-employment drug screens for all new hires
- Initiates new hire process in Workday
- Conducts new hire onboarding and collects appropriate paperwork from new employees
- Performs audits of the Workday system to ensure accuracy of employee data
- Assists employees with general HR questions related to payroll, and workday
- Supports recruiting team with applicant updates in Recruitee as well as account access requests
- Coordinates logistics for College Recruiting and Intern program as needed
- Assists with updating job descriptions and provides back-up support for posting new jobs online
- Monitors Workday Inbox and provides assistance as able
- Monthly New Hire and Term Reporting to Accounting and Safety
- Sorts and distributes departmental mail
- Provide general clerical and administrative support for human resources team
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as an HR assistant or coordinator
- Previous experience with Workday required
- People-oriented, with the ability to interact with people at all levels internally and externally
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and software, and produce reports
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time-management skills and adept at task prioritization
- Strong communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to provide input and streamline processes
- Proficient in typing and computer skills (MS Office, in particular)
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum: Associates’ degree; Human Resources or related job field
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Years of Experience Range: 2-3 years; Human Resources
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Percent of Travel Required: 5% Travel may be required for meetings or training.
