GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will provide administrative support to a Los Angeles-based partner at a small law firm with a national practice and offices in California and Texas. Responsibilities will primarily focus on administrative work to support the partner’s legal practice, but will also include some personal/household administrative tasks as needed (approximately 75%/25% business/personal ratio). Depending on capabilities and desire, the right candidate may also get exposure to marketing/business development related to law firm growth as well as other related business ventures. The ideal candidate will have superior organizational skills, a drive to learn, create opportunities, and help others succeed in an agile business environment. Prior legal experience is not required. (This is NOT a paralegal position). The position will start as contract work for approximately 6-8 weeks (TBD). After this trial period, depending on fit, full-time employment with benefits should be expected for the right candidate. There is some potential flexibility as to whether hours would be Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday for the right candidate that might prefer a 4-day work week (alternatively, Friday work from home may be possible).

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage partner’s work and personal calendar
- Arrange and schedule calls/meetings/appointments (business and personal)
- Take notes during meetings/calls (as necessary)
- Perform administrative duties (file/organize client information and documents/work product on cloud service; word processing; some light excel/powerpoint work)
- Keep and submit daily/weekly/monthly time and expenses to cloud billing system
- Manage Outlook inbox (prioritizing email responses/filtering spam)
- Manage daily/weekly/quarterly todo/priority lists
- Work/correspond with professionals in other remote offices on client/administrative matters
- Assistance with some household administrative duties as needed (e.g. managing bills, employees, scheduling, etc., as needed). Will likely include work/correspondence with partner’s spouse and household employees/babysitters, etc.
ADDITIONAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
- Light research associated with marketing/business development
- Drafting/creation of marketing materials (articles/news alerts/etc.)
- Interfacing with existing/potential clients
- Other opportunities to get involved in related business ventures depending on interest/qualifications/skills (real estate development/banking/fintech/etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proficiency with Outlook and Word; some experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs, clouds storage sites (e.g. Box)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong interpersonal and creative, problem-solving skills
- Ability to streamline workflows, prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal skills and confidence to interact and collaborate with internal staff/executives, external clients, and high-level executives across a range of businesses (legal, financial, real estate development, governmental/agency, political, etc.)
- Relevant experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is essential
