Job Summary
Directs Human Resource activities, policies, and processes to ensure the execution of CLIENT’s strategic plan. Maintains and enhances the organization's Human Resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating Associate relations and Human Resources policies, programs, and practices. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function for CLIENT. The Director of Human Resource’s role is essential. Without adequate, competent, and trained Human Resources, we cannot execute our strategic plan and cannot provide quality products to our customers. This will result in dissatisfied customers and the inability to achieve our quality objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Serves as a link between Leaders and Associates by handling questions, interpreting, and administering documents, and helping resolve work-related problems.
2. Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
3. Assures CLIENT’s HR Policies are properly documented and communicated in the appropriate mediums (Intranet, Handbook, Leader Guide, Training Programs, etc.).
4. Advises leadership on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and harassment, and recommends needed changes.
5. Directs enterprise HR functions including recruitment, selection, training, benefit administration, compensation practices, disciplinary processes, voluntary and involuntary termination activities, and Associate relations.
6. Promotes and practices CLIENT’s Safety System that prevents and eliminates workplace injuries and illnesses.
7. Works with the President & CEO in establishing Human Resource policies to ensure alignment in company philosophies and strategic objectives, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
8. Manages the Corporate Human Resources budget. Authorizes necessary business expenses in accordance with the per transaction limit listed in QSP 7410.
9. Responsible for all strategies, plans, and actions of the CLIENT Strategic Plan.
10. Approves all job descriptions and training documents to ensure information complies with regulatory and Quality System requirements.
11. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
1. Bachelor’s degree in business or Human Resources or equivalent education and work experience preferred.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal mediums is required.
3. Must be detail-oriented with organizational skills.
4. An understanding of CLIENT’s manufacturing and finishing operations and familiarity with products are helpful.
5. Computer skills and/or aptitude to learn required.
6. Must be able to think analytically and follow through.
7. Must be willing to further one’s education and knowledge of CLIENT’s operation.
8. Must be quality-minded and able to promote continuous improvement in quality systems.
9. Must achieve the competencies defined in CLIENT’s Quality System in order to become and continue to be qualified.
