The Director of Day Program provides leadership and vision for the Human Services team and builds services and support systems to improve the lives of clients. This position builds the client base and provides business growth by providing exceptional services that adapt to the changing needs of the service territory.
Provides direct supervision to the Day Program Manager Manager providing leadership, direction, relaying legislative changes, providing feedback about performance and encouraging community involvement and interaction with community partners.

Identifies business growth opportunities and leads and executes related plans.
Executes the business plan that clearly outlines key actions to support success and growth of each program.
Provides training and staff development.
Communicates a clear vision of Operational Excellence
Develops relationships with area service providers, businesses, organizations and individuals who will enrich the mission of To The Rescue.
Supports billing practices to expedite payment.
Supports the development of Policies and Procedures for the department.
Ensures Quality Assurance practices of the department and requests from MCO’s, DHS, CARF, Waiver, and any other entity acting in a capacity of certification.
Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior that reflects the mission and goals of To The Rescue.
Provides support to Human Resources to ensure staffing levels.
Generates ideas for new business opportunities and geographical growth.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies/Qualifications/Education:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Have knowledge of auditing and monitoring procedures.
Have working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations affecting Iowa
Have working knowledge of privacy laws and regulations.
Must possess strong leadership skills.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and provide instruction and direction to employees on maintaining compliance with policies, rules and procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Office that includes Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn computer programs for scheduling and timekeeping.
Ability to respond well under pressure.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, social work or related field and/or four or more years of related experience.
Certificates/Licenses/Registration:
The employee must provide and maintain a valid driver's license the entire duration of their employment, and must be eligible for the agency’s vehicle insurance.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This role supervises the Day Program Manager and Employment Manager.
Work Hours:
Hours are varied depending on the needs of the organization. This may include, but is not limited to days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This position requires hours that exceed a typical 8-hour work day as needed. The position is available to take calls related to needs of the department.
Work Environment:
The work environment is consistent with similar office environment settings.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
Travel:
Frequent travel within a 25-mile radius is expected for this position. Occasionally travel beyond a 25-mile radius may be required, including out of state travel.
