Hiring Pay Rate: The salary range listed represents a broad salary range for this position. It is anticipated that this position will begin at $3,318.00 per month, depending upon internal equity, experience, education, and training. Position is eligible for shift differential on all applicable hours.

Note: Work schedule for this position will be Monday through Thursday 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. and Friday 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with flexibility to meet departmental needs. Must be willing to work before or after normal business hours if requested and overtime as needed. An essential function of this position requires exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force consistently to move objects. It also requires constant or frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and reaching; must be able to climb, use, and work off a ladder. You must be able to perform this level of physical exertion in order to be considered for this position. Successful candidate must be able to follow verbal communications and be able to read and comprehend written directions.

Description of Job
Function as a work leader and provide excellent customer service by leading and assisting other custodial staff. Lead and assist with supply orders and equipment deliveries, complete work requests, building inspections, and monitor of work areas, train and schedule work, keep attendance and log absences, annual or sick leave, etc. Plan and conduct evaluations of custodial staff; keep track of inventory. Assist Custodian III with delegation of work assignments. Respond to complaints and ensure security of assigned areas. Assume full supervisory duties in the absence of any other supervisor.
Serve as work leader and perform housekeeping duties such as vacuuming carpets, dust mopping and wet mopping surface floors, cleaning and detailing offices, classrooms, restrooms, and conference rooms. This includes but is not limited to, collect and remove trash, clean trash cans, replace liners, and replace paper towels, toilet paper, soap in restrooms, conference rooms, and classrooms. Clean chalk/white boards, trays, and stock chalk and markers, remove graffiti, straighten, and return furniture to proper positions, clean and disinfect furniture, desktops, sinks, countertops, fixtures, glass, mirrors, dispensers, hand dryers, kick plates, vents, and door handles. Identify and report maintenance or repair needs for equipment, recommend replacement as appropriate.
Clean and/or maintain dusting on interior and/or exterior windows, blinds and window ledges, picture frames and wall signs. Buff and/or strip hard surface floors and wax; extract, shampoo and/or bonnet-clean carpets; or spot clean furniture or carpets. Clean walls and other surfaces as needed. When needed, provide assistance with moving furniture and set-ups. Assist with snow removal in emergencies.
Use a personal computer to read e-mail and send messages for college needs, complete leave requests and timesheets, etc.

Minimum Qualifications: One year of custodial experience as the primary function of your job which must include prior work lead experience over other employees. Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer is required. Explain your experience on your application. Do not use "see resume" statements on your application. The official State of Colorado application must be completed to be considered. Part time hours will be prorated.

Necessary Special Requirements: Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check as a condition of hire. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges and convictions, it is your responsibility to provide the ACC Office of Human Resources with an official disposition of the charges.
Preferred Qualifications: Two years prior experience working as a Custodian. Knowledge/experience in proper methods to strip and re-wax hard surface flooring. Knowledge of custodian chemicals and their use. Proper sanitation procedures for restrooms. Experience in hard floor and carpet maintenance. Experience operating floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and floor buffers. Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual contributor; self motivated. Prior experience operating a snow plow. Experience utilizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
