SalaryOverview -The Well of Mercy is a growing social service agency which provides the basic needs to women with children, and also guides the women in a holistic way to make healthy choices for themselves and their children. WOM aims to help make a paradigm shift from government dependency to independent living through building community. The WOM is located in Chicago.
Summary; The Childcare Coordinator will care for the children when the mother(s) are in school or work while they reside at The Well. The childCare Coordinator will care for the children from infancy through elementary age. The workday will consist of hours from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide childcare in the learning center from infant age through school aged children.
Perform a variety of tasks, such as dressing, feeding, and supervising playtime
Maintain a safe play environment
Dress children and change diapers, toilet train when appropriate
Develop a schedule of learning activities including gross and small motor skills
Develop skills in circle time, counting numbers, music movement, learning new skills, social skills, and new vocabulary.
Communicate with children’s parents about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
Sanitize toys and play equipment.
Complete logs and return to Development team.

Work with volunteers
Help to train volunteers
Plan and implement new ideas for daily/monthly routines.
Arrange field trips
Perform other tasks if the childcare is fully staffed

Requirements
GED or High School diploma Childcare experience preferred
Must be flexible and dependable Background check required
Obtain CPr/First Aid Certification
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
