Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer is directly accountable for the company’s daily accounting function, monthly financial statements, audit procedures and review of internal controls; preparation and review of all tax and compliance reporting; preparation of financial models as requested by the Administrator; recommending cost savings measures; performing cash planning and budgeting for the facility; assisting in the implementation of the capital budget, and assisting in new systems implementation and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting function including preparation of summary, analytical reports.
2. Responsible for cash management including corporate bank transactions and reconciliations.
3. Responsible for final preparation of annual budget. Coordinates process with department heads and participates in strategic planning.
4. Maintains data for preparation of Medicare cost report.
5. Prepares audit schedules for financial and program audits.
6. Insures compliance with internal control policies of the organization.
7. Performs other duties as assigned including managing the human resources of the department and being a hands on working manager.
Qualifications:
1. Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: Computer proficient and expertise in building financial models and projections. Proven track record in managing the accounting function. Knowledgeable in taxes and internal audit procedures. Excellent leadership, communication, and management skills with the ability to grow with the business.
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance required; CPA and/or Masters preferred.
3. Licensure: CPA preferred
4. Experience: Five years in health care environment preferred. Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting experience. EDI knowledge (Electronic Data Interchange).
