Under the direction of the President, the CFO is responsible for the accounting operations and preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, dashboards, and KPIs. Our client for this search is a privately held designer and manufacturer of custom-engineered products.
The company has a long history of steady, organic growth. This is both a tactical and strategic role that will lead the accounting and finance functions. The CFO will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage a small accounting, HR, and IT staff. This position will have regular connections to manufacturing operations.
Duties:
- Monthly and year-end financial reporting, including consolidation of plants (with the support of the Controller)
- Provide the leadership team with monthly dashboards
- Deliver narrative financials at monthly meetings
- Walk the plant floor and discuss production, labor, materials, overhead, transportation, returns and inventory
- Drive change to improve margins by taking the lead on costing and pricing initiatives
- Establish benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of plants
- Manage contracted IT services
- Direct and mentor the accounting staff of 3
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:
- Experience leading financial functions with an operating budget greater than $50M
- Experience working for a closely held manufacturer that has a culture of lean thinking and continuous process improvement
- Experience developing and managing staff in administrative and operational areas
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - CPA preferred
