Chief Financial Officer

Company Overview
We are a respected family-owned manufacturing company seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive management team. The CFO will play a pivotal role in steering the company's financial strategies and operations for a group of businesses that are manufacturing centric.
Role & Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership

• Lead the development of both short and long-term financial objectives in alignment with company goals.
• Ensure the Finance group maintains credibility by providing timely and accurate data, along with analysis of financial results and trends, against forecasts and budgets.

Cost Analysis and Management

• Spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive cost analysis system, including margin and spend.
• Oversee and manage all financial-related activities, including job costing, banking, insurance, 401k, audit and tax, as well as attorney relationships.

Contract Review and Strategic Planning

• Assess and provide strategic guidance on the implications and opportunities associated with new financial programs/strategies, encompassing capital expenditures and regulatory actions. This includes evaluating the impact on tax, accounting, and banking regulations, offering informed advice for effective decision-making.
• Review and manage contracts related to customers & vendors; and ensure they align with financial goals and risk mitigation.

Financial Process Improvement and Compliance

• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, reducing cycle times, and enhancing reporting accuracy, through cross training and leveraging technology.
• Establish robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax reporting requirements.
• Mentoring of staff and active management of their professional growth.

IT Management & Leadership

• Collaborate with the IT department to align technological initiatives with the overall business strategy. This involves setting goals, evaluating potential technologies, and ensuring that IT investments support the company's financial objectives.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to the IT department in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This includes overseeing upgrades, customizations, and ensuring the system meets the company's needs.
• Work closely with the IT manager to assess cybersecurity risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. This involves staying updated on cybersecurity trends, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assess and manage risks associated with IT projects, including data breaches, system failures, and compliance issues. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's assets and data.

Relationship Building and Guidance

• Cultivate strong relationships with senior executives and all functional managers by providing interpretation of and guidance on financial results and KPI's and driving the development of holistic business solutions.
• Manage relationships with financial partners including banking, tax & audit, legal, insurance agents, and 401k service providers.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of five years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, ideally within manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Experience with Epicor a plus.
