Job description

Palmer Johnson Enterprises is seeking an experienced, tech-savvy, and energetic Chief Financial Officer to lead all financial aspects of the organization. The CFO will play a pivotal part in guiding the company's growth, fostering collaboration, and providing data-driven insights to achieve strategic goals while upholding the organization's core values. Who are we? Palmer Johnson Enterprises is a distributor and service provider of drivetrain components for the industrial off-highway and marine markets. Palmer Johnson Enterprises is comprised of three operating entities: Palmer Johnson Power Systems, Hamilton Power Solutions, and Alterra Power Systems. The organization represents 20 vendor products and supports a wide range of offerings across 10 locations in North America and 2 in Canada. 

About the Opportunity:

Under the direction of the CEO - Palmer Johnson Enterprises, the Chief Financial Officer manages the financial affairs of the enterprise.  The CFO is an integral part of the leadership team and will play a key role in the enterprise: strategy, acquisition efforts, and leadership of accounting department activities across the business units.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee the development and execution of the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting to support executive decision-making. Identify and recommend opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement.

2. Financial Strategy and Risk Management: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the company's financial strategy. Assess and manage financial risks, including monitoring and mitigating liquidity, credit, and operational risks. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.

3. Financial Controls and Compliance: Maintain a strong control environment by establishing and implementing sound financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and audit requirements. Develop and maintain effective relationships with external auditors.

4. Treasury and Cash Management: Manage the company's cash flows, including forecasting, liquidity management, and investment strategies. Maintain relationships with banking partners and ensure efficient and cost-effective banking arrangements. Optimize working capital management.

5. Strategic Financial Planning: Lead financial analysis of potential strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and investments. Provide financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence support. Evaluate and assess new business opportunities, including financial impact and risks.

6. Team Leadership and Development: Manage and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree preferred. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years experience as a CFO or in a similar senior finance leadership role, preferably in distribution or manufacturing.
3. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
4. Extensive experience in strategic financial planning, risk management, and treasury management.
5. Experience using Salesforce, Epicore, Power BI, and/or Data Rails preferred.
6. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, providing strategic financial insights and guidance.
7. Experience in delivering projects and initiatives (internal and external) that have measurable financial results.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and interact with CEO/Owner, Leadership, and Account team.
9. Ability to support, mentor, and develop an accounting team.
10. High level of integrity, ethics, and professional judgment.
