About the Role & Team:
Are you interested in planning events at the most magical place on Earth? As an Event Manager with the Walt Disney Company, you will be responsible for leading efforts in end-to-end project management. This role is responsible to plan, develop and lead all aspects of multiple international and domestic events from conceptualization through execution annually (e.g. Trade Shows, Conventions, Road Shows, Client Training Programs, Sales Meetings and Experiential Events) in support of Promotional, Commercial & Marketing Strategy, and affinity member events for the Domestic Disney Destinations portfolio. You will strengthen Disney Parks & Resort's reputation, brand, and business through collaboration and support in the development and delivery of world class events that are high priority company initiatives or that directly promotes the property and/or the Walt Disney Company. This position plays a meaningful role in developing content strategies to achieve partner visions in a highly collaborative environment.
Events and projects range in size including large-scale, sophisticated, and high-profile characteristics that require full ownership to drive vision and results. You will develop valuable internal and external partnerships that you will use to recommend and influence decisions based on budget, creativity, and technical or logistical needs. Requires a level of expertise in the profession to achieve results in venue and event site research and recommendations, investigating, selecting, and consulting with outside services and vendors, as well as coordinating contracts and services in line with catering, décor, hotel blocks, and labor.
This position reports to the Event Director.
This is a Full-Time position.
What You Will Do:
Lead multiple cross-functional teams through the planning process of all projects, including research, creative planning, budget management, contracting, production/execution and post-event evaluation, including quantifying the success of events and projects
Manage all aspects of events from beginning to end with heavy focus on creative and logistical detail
Lead teams on comprehensive hospitality planning to include invitations, registration, reporting, and travel logistics
Serve as a creative thought partner, stay abreast of industry trends, standard processes, new technologies and leverage that knowledge to innovate events
Identify and problem solve challenges and conflicting priorities within the project scope, and remove roadblocks
Establish and use key relationships to ensure connectivity to the strategies and event content that support experience objectives
Influence solutions through thoughtful and collaborative data, insight, feedback and recommendations that can be implemented to improve future events
Be a single point of contact to partners with different Lines of Business to manage partner requests and fulfillment
Orchestrate product development for event related items using core site specific product to strengthen brand recognition or plan approach for custom product design and development
Lead projects from a client lens to include project management and services responsibilities
Maintain the management, storage and use of confidential information
Required Qualifications & Skills:
At least three years of relevant work experience
Possess high level of ownership, agility, and attention to detail in all aspects of project management
Ability to inspire others through an overarching vision while guiding results by applying creative sensibilities
Comfort in managing multiple projects while influencing a matrixed organization
Holistic focus on the Guest experience with the ability to use innovation as the foundation for success
Demonstrate Financial competence via preparing budgets, budget management, quarterly forecasting
Ability to work with internal and external vendors to negotiate contracts and financial impacts
Experience crafting and delivering presentations for all levels of leadership and external clients
Proficiency in establishing and supporting strategic direction and activating against agreed upon plans
Worked in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with varying priorities and timelines
Willingness to travel, based on assignment, both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous work experience with Sales, Marketing Strategy or Promotions
Knowledge of Convention Resort Function Space and all Theme Park Venues
Budget development and management experience
Understanding of the Entertainment line of business
Proficiency in DSCS and Siebel Systems
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
