This is an accounting position involving the application of accounting principles and practices. This individual performs accounting duties in recording, reviewing, processing, and controlling financial records and documents for propriety, quality, and conformance to established accounting procedures and maintenance of accounting systems. Fiscal and accounting problems and irregularities are referred to the Chief Financial Officer who reviews work periodically and upon completion for overall standards of performance. This individual performs accounting and fiscal functions as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and is supervised directly by the Accounting Manager.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Records invoices to accounts payable and processes approved claims for payment
- Prepares monthly billings for accounts receivable through electronic billing software.
- Prepare and post entries to General Ledger as needed.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Works with auditors during the auditing of accounts of the Association and its programs.
- Responsible for compliance with fiscal regulations and procedures.
- Perform related work as required.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to perform detailed work involving written or numerical data to make calculations rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to assemble, analyze, and prepare reports and statements of financial data.
- Ability to apply and adapt established methods to financial transactions.
- Ability to work with accounting software and thorough knowledge of Excel.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Two (2) years' experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records or a two (2) year degree in accounting.
