• Serves as liaison between Food and Child Nutrition department and district Employee Relations, Human Capital Management, Legal Review, Grievances, Risk Management and other departments as needed
• Train and provide guidance to FCNS supervisory staff regarding employee documentation, progressive discipline and due proce
• Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issue
• Assist Operations staff with school disciplinary concerns and serve as a resource by providing information and counseling to ensure fair and consistent treatment of FCNS employee
• Manages the Temporary Labor Agencies, updates FCNS Temporary Agency Handbook annually, conducts yearly Temporary Labor Agency onboarding meeting, and ensure that agencies are following district hiring policy and procedure
• Maintain and update TXUNPS contracts for, including but not limited to, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, Saturday School, Seamless Summer Option, Break Meals Program, FOCUS Program, and Homeless Shelter
• Maintain and update Filemaker programs, including but not limited to, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Temporary Agency payroll and employee information, health inspections, Seamless Summer campus enrollment, and employee observation report
• Collaborate with all FCNS departments to update all Employee Handbooks yearly
• Serve as hearing officer and handle all grievances for the department
• Meet with claims supervisor to capture all meals for federal reimbursement. Ensure all required paperwork is turned in from site supervisors for claim
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. Qualifications
• Required Bachelor' s Degree from an accredited university in Nutrition, Institutional Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Home Economics, Human Resources, Business, or a related field
• Required ServSafe Manager Certificate - District provided
• Preferred SHRM Certification
• Required 5+ in supervisory experience in a multi-unit organization, background in school food service strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of policies, procedures, and laws concerning employee relations, separation, and investigative procedure
• Computer skills and working knowledge of Oracle, MS Windows, MS Office Professional
• Proven ability to present a positive image for the district, maintain professional demeanor, provide excellent customer service and use good judgement in making decision
• Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and to work under time pressure to meet deadline
• Ability to work independently, at times with limited direction, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations
