HR & Payroll Coordinator – Coffee Point
E&E Foods is launching a search for a HR & Payroll Coordinator at their office in Coffee Point. This job requires a person who has excellent attention to detail, strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy and has excellent verbal oral and written communication skills. In addition, they will possess expertise in and working knowledge of Federal and State labor laws and standards pertaining to payroll practices. They will have strong computer and payroll software skills. They will be a creative problem solver and able to work effectively despite persistent interruptions and changing priorities. Finally, they will be a team player with the ability to handle deadline driven environments.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage and coordinate E&E Foods payroll for the CP Alaska Operations including garnishments, voluntary deductions, benefits and taxes for 300+ employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Provide leadership and direction and ensure that staff provide information efficiently, accurately and in compliance with designated policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with corporate HR & Recruiting and assist with digital onboarding, hiring, transfer, and separation of employees.
- Maintain employee HR records and update staffing spreadsheets daily.
- Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed.
- Resolve issues and answer employee payroll & HR related questions, and requests.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of payroll and HR information.
- Respond to requests from state and federal agencies.
- Possess the ability to prioritize varying projects and deadlines while being very well organized.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- 5/+ years relevant work experience
- Payroll experience a must
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook
Salary & Benefits:
- The starting wage is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour straight time and $28.50 to $33.00 per hour overtime.
- Round trip airfare from largest city near point of hire to plan location in Alaska.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and LIVING LOCATION:
- Must be able to sustain a 12 hour per day/7 days a week work schedule for the duration of the season, approximately Mid May/Early June through late July/early August.
- Hours and days of work are entirely dependent upon the Alaska Department of Fish & Game’s announced fishing openings, which are determined by pre-/mid-season predictions and actual fish movement.
- Housing is dormitory style, and you may share a room with up to 3 people.
- There are no health care options readily accessible.
- There is no cellphone signal and limited internet available. Communication is very limited.
- Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person.
- The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks.
- Document management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 25lbs.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
