Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing patient medical records in a healthcare setting. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and regulations
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical records, including patient demographics, medical history, test results, diagnoses, and treatments
- File and retrieve medical records as needed for healthcare providers and other authorized personnel
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with the release of medical records to authorized individuals or organizations as per request
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and record management
- Maintain electronic health record systems and ensure proper data entry and retrieval
- Perform data entry tasks such as updating patient information, scanning documents, and indexing records
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical office procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
