Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
Five to ten years of successful office experience preferred
Demonstrates detail orientation and ability to multi-task
Strong verbal and written communication skills and solid project management skills
Exceptional customer service orientation; Maintains confidentially as required and appropriate
Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, backgrounds, and abilities
Demonstrates office technology software skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other cloud-based software
Responsibilities:
Maintains calendar for the Superintendent and schedules meetings as needed
Performs internal and external office communications: email, voicemail, and miscellaneous written correspondence (including Board of Education items and general clerical responsibilities)
Greets and assists students, staff and community in person and by telephone, in a courteous professional, and friendly manner, screens and routes incoming telephone calls
Ensures accuracy and completeness of staff evaluations, retrieves and uploads documents as directed
Maintain/update various department/district database tools pertaining to the Superintendent's office
Prepares reports and drafts of reports for the Superintendent's use for transmittal
Arranges conferences, retreats, and meetings for the Superintendent
Track, maintain and report on assigned budget area(s) including processing and purchasing supply requests in compliance with district policy and procedure, maintain inventory of supplies, track balances and provided reports
Make all necessary arrangements for travel and conferences for the Superintendent
Process travel requests for staff, ensuring Board approval when applicable
All other duties as assigned
*In accordance with S-414/A-3188 (http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S0500/414_R2.HTM), school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and contracted service providers ("employers") are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
