Special EducationAdministrative Assistant (Full Time; School Year) Job Summary: Works cooperatively with the Team Chairperson as well as other Special Education staff and school building personnel. Ideal candidates have excellent time management and communication skills and work well as a part of a larger team. They can learn and have a familiarity with basic Special Education timelines, maintain confidentiality, and respond to changing needs with flexibility. Previous experience with PowerSchool or similar student information systems is preferred.
Knowledge of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Frontline Special Education Management System (formerly eSped), purchase order requests, processing and tracking of all IEP-related documentation including but not limited to IEPs, consent forms, meeting invitations, evaluation requests and progress reports. The full-time School Year Administrative Assistant begins five workdays before the first day of school and ends five workdays after the last day of school; seven (7) hours per day, five (5) days per week and does not work during Christmas, February, or April vacation weeks. Statement of Duties: - Respond to correspondences in a timely and professional manner.- Maintain accurate student files and records.- Process all appropriate paperwork for the enrollment and transfer of students with Special Education services.- Ability to maintain confidentiality.- Must be able to perform work efficiently and accurately within the given due dates.- Must be a strong team player, able to collaborate well with others.- Basic computer competence including standard office software (ex. Word and Excel) and data entry in the student management systems.- Other duties as assigned by the Team Chairperson, Principal and Director of Student Support Services.
