JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for an Administrative Support Assistant to serve as the first point of contact, in person and via phone, maintain confidential information and provide administrative support for all program team members located in Allegheny County Penn State Extension office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Greet customers, provide information and refer as appropriate.
Screen and process routine telephone communications, mail, and requests.
Maintain files and databases; assemble and format data to create simple reports.
Manage volunteer/member registration system.
Maintain confidential and sensitive information and materials including volunteer compliance records.
Assist educators with logistics of educational programming, plant sales, day camps, school enrichment programming documentation, etc.
Assist with preparation of program documents/correspondence including flyers, advertisements, brochures.
Update and make routine changes to web pages and social media sites.
Provide financial support by preparing and making routine bank deposits for county program events.
Maintain inventory and order/purchase office supplies; arrange for equipment-maintenance; process work orders for facilities repairs/needs.
This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. This is an 87.5% full-time equivalency (FTE) appointment working 35 hours per week. Full Penn State benefits included.
Education and Experience:
This position typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$34,800.00 - $50,500.00Salary Structure - additional information on Penn State's job and salary structure.
