ANTICIPATED VACANCY

LOCATION: Tallahassee – Leon County
STARTING SALARY: $1,420.00 Bi-Weekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for conducting daily administrative support to the Chief of Investigations. The maintaining of confidentiality is essential for this position due to the possibility that anyone from DJJ could be the focus of an active investigation.
Review and edit investigative work products for proper formatting, and grammatical composition. Ensure that all referenced exhibits are attached to cases and assemble reports in final format for final review by Chief of Investigations and/or Inspector General.
Maintain an assignment log of cases that are assigned for review and editing.
Distribute completed DRAFT investigations to contracted entities and substantially affected individuals as defined in Section 20.055 (6)(e), FS (aka House Bill 165 provisions). Track said distribution for responses and coordinate closure with the Chief of Investigations and/or Inspector General.
Enter determinations for completed cases into the Central Communications Center/Inspector General Module database.
Track closed cases for completed Incident/Complaint Disposition Forms or action memorandums.
Act as liaison with Inspectors in the field as it relates to providing or obtaining information as it related to open investigations.
Assist inspectors with open investigations as needed.
Collect and analyze data from investigative reports needed to complete annual reports.
Complete special assignments that are assigned by the Chief of Investigations and/or Inspector General.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Utilization of equipment, required for the position
Knowledge of the criminal justice system
Skill in proofreading work products for spelling, grammar, and sufficiency
Skill in determining work priorities needed to meet deadlines
Ability to operate a personal computer using word processing and analytical software
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to examine and identify critical elements from governing documentation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently work for or have worked in an Office of Inspector General
Experience working in an environment where you must keep confidentiality
