Job Description
- Provides professional administrative and clerical support to relieve department managers or staff of administrative details in a department or functional area within the company, performing office administration and daily clerical duties including basic schedule planning, travel arrangements, documentation, and file maintenance.
- Ensures that departmental operations comply with organizational policies and procedures.
- Schedules meetings and related requirements for departmental staff, including reserving conference rooms, catering, and A/V equipment if necessary.
- Operates automated office equipment.
Job Examples
- Researches, compiles and proofs documents and prepares reports and presentations, often of a complex or confidential nature.
- Responds to general departmental or functional inquiries; reviews drafts and finished internal/external communications documents.
- May provide departmental reception services, receiving and directing visitors or calls, maintenance of department office supplies and incoming/outgoing mail.
- Participates in and contributes to special projects as directed by the department head.
Skill Level
- Applies mastery of skills, extensive knowledge, and ingenuity in area of specialization, typically acquired through considerable relevant work experience (6+ years).
- Completion of an AA degree or equivalent may be preferred though not required.
- May be considered entry-level for employees with Bachelor's degree or equivalent in appropriate field.
