Accounts Payable Specialist

Norman’s Nursery has been in business for 77 years and is one of the largest wholesale growers of boxed trees and shrubs. We have over 1,000 acres across 8 different locations in California. As one of the largest wholesale nursery suppliers in the west, we strive to be a leader in the industry.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable transactions (payment processing, invoice verification, reconciliation of expenses).

Work Location: San Gabriel, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for efficiently coding and processing 100+ invoices per week using JD Edwards software.
• Manage Accounts Payable for distinct entities and suppliers.
• Process transactions and fulfil accounting responsibilities such as maintaining accounts, recording entries, and reconciling financial records.
• Reconcile monthly statements for outstanding payments with vendors.
• Manage accounts utilizing accounting software.
• Verify invoice accuracy, including matching invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding and classification of expenses.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date Accounts Payable records and files.
• Respond to vendor inquiries promptly.
• Assist in year-end processes (balancing deposit accounts, identify any faulty entries in reporting and correct them, filing etc.)
• Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting role preferred.
• Prior experience with JD Edwards accounting software is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and with limited supervision.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pay: $24-28

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
