Position Description:

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you are responsible for processing payables and performing related tasks consisting of preparing, coding, entering, and paying vendors. The ideal candidate understands accounting principles, is highly organized, has the ability to work in a fast-pacedenvironment, and has great attention to detail. Essential Functions

• Prepare (match to PO), code to the appropriate GL account and enter Accounts Payables invoices.
• Reconcile vendor statements and work with vendor on discrepancies.
• Manage the weekly check run process and mail out vendor payments.
• Handle vendor setup along with collecting and maintaining vendor W-9’s.
• Annual 1099 reporting.
• Maintaining the monthly use tax due.
• Monitor and follow up on aged outstanding checks.
• Monitoring info email box daily for incoming invoices/statements and responding to vendor inquiries.
• Assist in streamlining the Accounts Payable process by identifying areas for performance improvement.
• Performs general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Enter general ledger transactions as requested.
• Participates in departmental meetings and training events.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Experience:

• Associates degree in Accounting, or 2-4 years related Accounts Payable experience in lieu of education requirement.

Preferred Experience:

• 2-4 years Accounts Payable experience.
