Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Finance Director or Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for all aspects related to Accounts Payable.
Essential Job Functions

• Processes Accounts Payable, including sorting, coding, and entering invoices, obtaining approvals if needed, and resolving discrepancies
• Matches supplier invoices to purchase order receipts
• Verifies and processes all AP vouchers for payments, via ACH/wire/check
• Enters and maintains new vendor accounts
• Responds via e-mail or phone to any vendor inquiries
• Processes and prints or saves all Accounts Payable reports
• Prepares analysis of accounts as required
• Assists in monthly close process
• Assists with quarterly and yearly audits
• Prepares yearly 1099's
• Ad hoc projects as assigned
• Additional responsibilities as needed

• Experience with accounting software (JD Edwards a plus)

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or Associate degree in accounting preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable
• Experience in manufacturing or distribution companies, highly preferred
• Public company experience, preferred
