Our corporate support team is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team! This position will office in Downtown Minneapolis (parking provided) and support our diverse real estate portfolio. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Records a high volume of invoices and posting batches to multiple entities in RealPage which requires detailed data entry
- Processes payments via ACH, check, and direct vendor websites as directed by Accounting Supervisors
- Establishes and maintains all Accounts Payable vendors, including current insurance certificates if required
- Maintains payment schedules for recurring payments and processes payments
- Responds to all and any inquiries regarding Accounts Payable.
- Prepares calendar year-end 1099s and maintains all necessary information throughout the year
- Preparation of reports and year-end audit work papers as assigned
- Monitors the AP email inbox and disburses invoices to the appropriate Specialists
- Completes additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- 1-3 years of related accounting experience required
- Post-Secondary education in accounting or a related field strongly preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a very fast paced environment including adjusting quickly to changing priorities
- Able to multi-task while setting priority, work independently and in a team setting
- Quick learner with strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum 40-wpm keyboard skills; 10-key experience required.
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Office software with advanced skills in Excel.
- Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
- RealPage accounting software experience a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment; quiet to moderate noise level.
