Overview of Position
We are seeking an individual to join our Accounting Team. This person will be primarily responsible for Accounts Payable here at Groove. This person will use their accounting skills to ensure that vendors are paid timely and accurately.
What you’ll own
- Records invoices; analyzes information on invoices received to charge expenses to correct project, account, and cost center.
- Resolve discrepancies to purchase orders, ensure credits are received for outstanding memos, verify vendor federal ID numbers
- Monthly reconciliation of vendor account statements to ensure all invoices have been received
- Verifies sales tax exemption status of each invoice by comparing to states where Groove holds a sales tax exemption
- Support the monthly accounting close through analysis of Accounts Payable-related general accounts and providing reports as needed.
- Assists in opening and distributing incoming mail
- Respond to vendor inquiries via phone and email
- Backup for existing AP clerk; processing vendor payment runs via check and ACH, issuing stop-payments
- Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Additional AP-related tasks and duties as assigned
Experience and skills you’ll have
- 2+ years of experience in AP
- Previous experience in transportation, hospitality, or commercial industries is a plus, but not required
- Extreme attention to detail
- Experience with customer service and client communication
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organization and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with G Suite
- Familiarity with accounting software programs
