Service manager is responsible for keeping service team organized and motivated. This includes training, one-on-one, and sharing up date bulletins.
Education and/or experience:
-High School Diploma or GED Required
-Service department knowledge required
-Previous Management preferred but not required
Qualifications

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
*To establish good communication and working relationships between departments internally.
*Oversee and organize service advisors daily operations
*Organize and maintain all crated inventory
*Ensure hours are properly closed out, time cards are completed, and monthly tracking sheet is updated
*Ensure estimates are done correctly and customers are notified before work is completed
*Keep technicians on task and properly schedule work to avoid time conflicts
*Keep set up personnel on task
*Submit and cashier all warranty R.O. and make sure monthly tracking sheet is updated
*Check for warranty claim shortages and overages
*Handle customer complaints—defer to GM if not able to satisfy customer
*Maintain all shop equipment (oil changes, services, cleanliness, etc.)

-And all shop tools
*Provide all employees with the proper tools and equipment to perform task
*Ensure shop area remains clean and safe with a professional appearance
*Report any accidents immediately to the GM and fill out first report of injury form
*Ensure all techs attend any schools or certification updates needed for the OEM’s
*Manage all service bulletins and educate employees on the bulletins including all recalls
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move around a shop atmosphere easily and perform light to moderately heavy lifting. Must be comfortable around shop tools and lifts. Will be walking and on feet most of the day. Must have full use of hands for typing.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
*Responsible for keeping employees schedule for hours and making sure no overtime is being made for hourly employees unless approved by GM
*Making sure that all employees under the service department umbrella are working together to keep a positive and safe working environment.
*Responsible for hiring and firing service employees, managing the employees, and reprimanding employees
*Managing the work flow
