Accounts Payable- Contract to hire

Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk in this role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable functions and provide general support in accounting activities for our non-profit organization. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable:

  • Process invoices, ensuring accurate coding and appropriate approval.
  • Prepare and execute timely payments to vendors, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.

• Expense Management:

  • Review and process employee expense reports.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in the management of petty cash.

• General Accounting Assistance:

  • Support the maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on financial reporting.

• Record Keeping:

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records for Accounts Payable transactions.
  • File and archive financial documents systematically.

• Communication:

  • Liaise with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to address general accounting queries.

• Data Entry:

  • Accurately input financial data into accounting software.
  • Assist in the entry of journal entries and adjustments.

• Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits related to Accounts Payable.

• Ad Hoc Tasks:

  • Provide support for special projects and tasks as assigned by the finance manager.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in accounting processes.

Qualifications:

• • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (mention specific software if applicable).
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
