Accounts Payable- Contract to hire
Job Summary: The Accounting Clerk in this role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable functions and provide general support in accounting activities for our non-profit organization. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Process invoices, ensuring accurate coding and appropriate approval.
- Prepare and execute timely payments to vendors, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
Expense Management:
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and guidelines.
- Assist in the management of petty cash.
General Accounting Assistance:
- Support the maintenance of the general ledger.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Collaborate with the finance team on financial reporting.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records for Accounts Payable transactions.
- File and archive financial documents systematically.
Communication:
- Liaise with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the finance team to address general accounting queries.
Data Entry:
- Accurately input financial data into accounting software.
- Assist in the entry of journal entries and adjustments.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
- Assist in the preparation for audits related to Accounts Payable.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Provide support for special projects and tasks as assigned by the finance manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (mention specific software if applicable).
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
