Position Summary:
Nusano is seeking a Vice President of Operations to spearhead the optimization of accelerator operations, radiochemistry protocols, and facilities management, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the overall operational efficiency of our organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this accomplished executive will collaboratively engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive innovation and excellence across these critical domains. They will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of accelerator operations, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in radiochemistry processes, and overseeing the efficient management of our state-of-the-art facilities located in West Valley City, Utah.

Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of the overall operational strategy, ensuring
alignment with Nusano's mission and objectives. - Spearhead cross-functional collaboration among departments to optimize operational
efficiency and enhance productivity. - Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement
and operational excellence. - Oversee accelerator operations, radiochemistry, and production operations and facilities,
ensuring that all aspects operate efficiently and effectively. - Collaborate with the commercial and strategy teams to develop and deliver tailored
solutions that align with the customers' specific needs. - Coordinate the integration of the cross-functional team responsible for construction,
testing, licensing, and ramping up production in SLC, ensuring the timely completion of
all activities.
Team Management:
- Build and nurture a high-performance operations team, fostering a culture of innovation,
collaboration, and professional growth. - Provide guidance and mentorship to department heads, enabling them to excel in their
roles and contribute to Nusano's success. - Foster effective communication and teamwork to ensure seamless coordination between
various operational functions.
Production Efficiency:
- Optimize accelerator operations, radiochemistry, and production processes for maximum
efficiency, quality, and safety. - Oversee the design and implementation of streamlined production processes, minimizing
waste and maximizing resource utilization. - Develop and monitor production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of medical
radioisotopes to meet customer demands. - Identify and implement automation and technology solutions to enhance production
speed and quality. - Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and safety protocols in accelerator
operations, radiochemistry, and production facilities. - Develop and implement initiatives to ensure production reliability for our customers.
- Stay informed about and adhere to industry best practices while actively suggesting
strategic partnerships to enhance our ability to serve our customers effectively.
Resource Management:
- Manage the allocation of resources effectively across accelerator operations,
radiochemistry, and production facilities to meet production targets and cost objectives. - Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditure to optimize
operational efficiency while meeting financial goals. - Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to enhance costeffectiveness.
- Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to secure essential resources and
materials.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and refine Nusano's strategic plans,
ensuring they align with the company's long-term vision. - Drive the execution of strategic initiatives within the operations department and track
progress toward goals. - Anticipate market trends and industry developments to proactively adjust operational
strategies. - Identify and evaluate potential expansion opportunities for accelerator operations,
radiochemistry, and production capabilities to support Nusano's growth objectives.
Continuous Improvement:
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and the adoption of
emerging technologies within the operations team. - Encourage feedback and idea generation from team members and implement best
practices. - Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for
operational enhancements. - Implement best practices for sustainable and environmentally responsible operations in
accelerator operations, radiochemistry, and production processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management,
preferably within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related industries. - Proven track record of successfully managing complex operations, including
manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain management. - Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to
motivate and engage teams. - Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and results.
- Experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
