Stand Together seeks a VP of Finance to serve as the strategic and operational finance leader over all finance operations within the Stand Together community. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Finance will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis team, which provides FP&A and Reporting support to over 25 non-profit and for-profit organizations. This position will partner closely with senior executives throughout the organization and work with the broader finance team to produce actionable analysis and insights that lead to better decision making.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a successful finance leader over a sizable team, a proven ability to navigate and drive transformation in a complex environment – specifically transforming an analysis or decision-support function, be very proactive in their approach to their role, and show the ability to work with and coach team members at all levels.
The VP of Finance will play a key role in providing Stand Together’s leaders the information and data needed to drive optimal decisions to expand our impact. Your Responsibilities Include
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for FP&A and Reporting.
- Build a clear vision and strategy for growth and transformation, and in conjunction with your leadership team, operationalize a plan for finance to continuously create more value for the organization.
- Drive the annual planning and monthly forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting for multiple organizations and departments.
- Mature our analysis capability to perform consistent ad-hoc analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Educate and empower business owners to take ownership of forecasts, and develop tools and processes for ease of ownership and updates.
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, provide financial insights, and enable informed decision-making.
- Partner with leadership to develop analysis and decision-making tools for optimizing investments.
- Liaise with senior leaders to understand their data needs and collaborate in developing systems and tools for capturing, analyzing, and reporting data and insights.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to identify opportunities for process efficiencies and improve data accuracy.
Knowledge And Skills You Bring To The Organization
- 10+ years of relevant finance experience, with at least 5 years leading a sizable finance function in a complex and/or matrixed organization.
- High level of business acumen and the ability to understand and analyze diverse businesses in order to spot opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to move the needle forward on transformational goals by setting a clear vision and strategies to get there and challenging the status quo.
- A proven ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a simple manner.
- Self-starter who is able to deliver in a dynamic environment under tight timelines and changing priorities; must be "hands-on."
- Excellent team player who can also work well independently and with limited direction; highly driven and self-motivated.
