WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Leadership
- Lead the Product Management Team to be seen as a collaborative, innovative driver of business growth.
- Attract, develop, and retain best in class talent.
- Establish / evolve a Product Management methodology, process, and department structure to deliver growth.
- Collaborate across departments, and provide leadership that supports the company’s culture, mission, and values.
- Constructively challenge team and colleagues to consider different approaches, leverage new technology and bring effective change to the team and the development process.
- Strategy
- Maintain a strong pulse on the market landscape, competitors, and the voice of the customer to ensure we are focused on the most pressing and urgent market needs and business objectives.
- Define and execute a product strategy and roadmap in close collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, and development.
- Through ongoing market insights, bring recommendations for future growth opportunities and potential challenges to the senior leadership team for consideration.
- Bring unique vision and creativity to achieving market needs, constructively challenge development teams to push the boundaries while achieving market driven timelines and budgets.
- Product Management
- Achieve overall company and product level P&L targets and manage resources to drive business objectives.
- Define and deliver product MVP’s and MMR’s based on market insights for effective education products and services that aligns to the core values and business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement in the performance, cost, and quality of existing products and services.
- Other duties as assigned
WHO YOU’LL SUPERVISE
- Manage a small remote Product Management team.
- Provide performance coaching and direct feedback.
- Collaborate with People Operations to create professional development plans and develop succession plans.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Passionate about education, making a difference and living the values of the organization.
- Minimum 10 years of Product Management leadership in an EdTech and SaaS business.
- Ability to challenge the status quo, collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, represent an unbiased perspective of the market needs and lead a talented team of Product managers to define, communicate and deliver a winning product strategy.
- Experience leading in a fast-paced, quickly evolving organization while supporting the needed change management.
- Experience creating products in the US and abroad.
- Experience with strategic planning, R&D, data analytics and Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Executive level presentation and interpersonal skills: a highly effective, articulate and clear communication style.
- Enthusiastic about the opportunity to drive change in partnership with the organization.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
KEY COMPETENCIES YOU HAVE
- Strategic Vision and Management: Possess a strong strategic vision for the product line and the ability to lead cross-functional teams towards that vision. This includes setting long-term product goals, aligning product strategies with the company's business objectives, and inspiring teams to achieve high levels of performance.
- Market and Customer Insight: Understands market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape. Conducts thorough market research, gathers and analyzes customer feedback, and stays ahead of industry trends to inform product strategy and development. Ability to segment the market effectively and identify key customer personas to target with specific product features or marketing strategies.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Has a deep understanding of the entire product lifecycle, from concept through development to launch and beyond. This includes roadmap planning, prioritization of Product features based on customer and business value, overseeing the product development process to ensure it meets market needs, and managing the product portfolio to optimize performance and profitability. Proficiency in agile methodologies and the ability to work closely with development teams.
- Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication and ability to collaborate with various departments. Work closely with teams across the organization, including sales, marketing, finance, customer success, and development, to ensure that product strategies are integrated and aligned with overall business goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence others, negotiate effectively, and build strong internal partnerships.
