SUMMARY: As the Vice President of Logistics and Supply Chain Services you will lead a centralized team responsible for SYGMA's logistics operations and Supply Chain Services. This individual is responsible for the execution of strategies to increase operational efficiencies across SYGMA inbound, warehousing, and outbound networks. In addition, the person will oversee the management of company assets, fleet vehicles, warehouse devices and implement strategies to maximize asset utilization, minimize downtime, and optimize resource allocation. The primary partners of this role are SYGMA's VP of Field Operations as well as SYGMA's VP of Technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • In partnership with VP Field Operations this role is responsible for developing and executing programs that drive improved operational efficiency across the SYGMA network.

  • Lead the SYGMA routing team responsible for continuous Network Optimization and new business analysis.

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to advance SYGMA's logistics, backhaul, and distribution systems capabilities partnering across Sysco, External Suppliers, and Key Customers.

  • Lead the SYGMA warehouse and transportation support team responsible for system configuration, change management, and training across all warehouse and delivery operations.

  • Develop and maintain company Best Business Practices and Standard Operating Procedures for field operations.

  • Align with internal stakeholders and external partners to support change management and project management activities.

  • Partner closely with Sysco's Global Support Center to ensure the sharing and deployment of best practices and standard operating procedures.

  • Create new revenue streams utilizing SYGMA's assets, strategic partnerships with other Sysco businesses, and external carriers marketing to both internal and external partners.

  • Partner with Sales to enhance customer relationships, including creating, developing, and implementing management of Special Customer freight programs.

  • Collaborate with carriers and 3PL's to review capabilities for new innovative solutions.

  • Lead organizational change initiatives related to Logistics and Supply Chain.

  • Analyze existing inbound programs to ensure adequate freight allowances, competitive carrier rates, and shipment profitability.

  • Analyze performance data of existing carriers to ensure performance objectives are met.

  • Collaborate with business leadership and technology teams to implement new processes and systems.

  • Analyze and project transportation costs, evaluate and select external transport providers, and manage ongoing relationships.

  • Develop annual plans, allocate resources, and budgets for Supply Chain Services distribution system projects.

  • Ensure proper procedures are followed to comply with DOT regulations including the qualification of new drivers and equipment.

  • Oversee recruitment, development, and retention efforts for Logistics and Supply Chain Services teams, focusing on training, coaching, and fostering colleague growth aligned with company objectives.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred in Logistics, Supply Chain.

  • 15 years experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising or other inbound freight organizations.

  • 10 years management experience required.
