Pay Range: $20.99 - $29.06 USD hourly.
Purpose of Job:
Improves the overall health of the communities we serve by expanding the availability of health care by assisting pharmacists in providing prescriptions to patients as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes duties of a CHAS Health Pharmacy Assistant.
- Shadows a CHAS Health Pharmacy Technician.
- Completes PTCB course work and follows all requirements of program.
- Within the CHAS Health Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program:
- Reconstitutes pharmaceutical drugs, fills bottles with prescribed medication, and completes labels for bottles.
- Accepts phone calls to/from pharmacy regarding prescription refills by number, pricing information, provider refill requests, business hours, availability of goods and services, etc.
- Places, receives, unpacks, and stores incoming supplies and drug orders.
- Processes prescriptions dispensed to patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer utilizing pharmacy and health center software systems.
- Requests refills on behalf of patient to appropriate provider.
- Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications:
: HS diploma or equivalent required. Acceptance into CHAS Health Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program required. Washington locations must have valid licensure as a Pharmacy Assistant upon program start. Idaho locations must have valid licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in Training upon program start.
: Excellent customer service, oral and written communications skills required. Compassion for patients required.Must be able to work well in team environment. Ability to multi-task in fast-paced work environment, with ability to anticipate future needs. Commitment to supporting a safe, respectful, equitable, and inclusive environment required Computer skills required. Medical terminology and accurate spelling ability required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move around the facility between 1/3 and 2/3 of the day, while sitting at a workstation occurs under 1/3 of the day. Using hands and reaching with arms occurs over 2/3 of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3of the day, while climbing, stooping or crawling is minimal. Lifting up to 10 lbs occurs occasionally, while 25-50 lbs occurs infrequently.
