What you will be doing
The 2nd Vice President, Annuity Relationship Management will be responsible for building and managing the Annuity Operations Relationship Management team that interfaces with key partners and accounts, across multiple distribution channels.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Global understanding of industry trends and competitive landscape with a focus on improving our competitive position from an Annuity Operations perspective, with specific focus on solutions that drive new business and enhance the overall customer experience
- Hiring, training, and developing successful front-line associates, leaders and relationship managers to grow the business while meeting or exceeding SLAs
- Leveraging the Operations RM team and work with the Distribution KAM (key account management) function to drive distribution partner initiatives where the investment provides positive cost-benefit
- Staying current with respect to regulatory requirements such as state insurance laws, FINRA guidelines, and SEC and IRS rulemaking. When regulations change, effectively communicate and implement necessary changes to processes, understanding the interaction of these requirements with annuity business rules
- Maintaining an understanding of distributor partner processes, standards, IT initiatives and service level agreements to ensure successful implementation at the carrier level
- Ensuring we are proactively communicating carrier initiatives, policies/procedures and internal regulatory decisions to distribution partners
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with other areas of Annuity Operations, Distribution, Marketing, Legal, Actuarial, and IT
- Consistent focus on organizational design and work with direct reports to improve process efficiency
- Working with IT, Project Management and Annuity leadership to prioritize system projects and distributor initiatives that impact Annuity Operations and Distribution
- Serving as business owner and subject matter expert on multiple platforms and solutions related to sales/new business and service
- Traveling to relevant industry conferences, make periodic visits to distributor campuses and offices, and actively participating in industry forums and conference calls; keeping Annuity Operations and IT informed of pertinent topics and developments
- Gaining an understanding of new products prior to introduction and contribute to ensuring that operational requirements are met and internal teams have a good understanding of product features
- Creating and maintaining the budget for RM

What you need to be successful
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, or Economics
- At least 10 years of industry experience
- Series 6 or 7
Preferred Skills
- Intellectual capacity to understand complex financial products and how they interact with various systems, both internally and on external partner platforms
- Ability to manage and develop a diverse group of team leads, supervisors, RMs and front-line employees
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Problem solving skills are required to allow for the quick resolution of issues
- The ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with a variety of audiences, including various internal departments and external partners, is an absolute must
