GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Office Manager and Park Manager, this position performs routine (journey-level) administrative support including coordinating and managing the daily business operations of Ray Roberts Lake State Park-Johnson Branch Unit. Serves as shift supervisor and assists with report preparation and compilation. Issues permits, fee collection, and accounting for revenue collected. Provides quality customer service and operates computer and other office equipment. Assists in maintaining the appearance of the headquarters area. Maintains supplies and provides accurate information to the visiting public. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from High School or GED.
Experience:
Two years experience performing administrative support duties.
Licensure:
If driving is required, applicant must possess a valid State driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
One year experience in collecting and the control of revenue;
One year experience working with computers to include word processing and spreadsheet programs;
One year experience training and supervising employees;
One year experience with customer service, such as working with large groups of people, stressful environments, and volunteer coordination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general office management;
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing systems, filing and records management systems, forms design principles and other office procedures and terminology;
Knowledge of accounting/accountability of revenue collection;
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
Skill in effective verbal and written communication;
Skill in using standard office equipment;
Skill in planning, assigning and/or supervising the work of others;

WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to work in a public park with overnight camping and day use;
Required to work 40 hours per week, includes/various schedules, with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and days off other than Saturday, Sunday and holidays;
Required to adjust to changing schedules;
Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 20 lbs.;
May be required to operate a State vehicle;
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays;
Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures;
Non-smoking work environment in State buildings and vehicles.
