Job description

Job Title: Administrative Assistant II - Library (Supplies and Records)
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Pay Group: P10 Salary Plan
Primary Purpose: Assist the Library Services Administrator with libraries across the district to include ordering, receiving, processing and shipping books. Work involves computer operations, maintaining library materials, processing the movement of books and performing various tasks related to library operations.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Experience:
High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.
Three years of full-time, wage-earning general clerical, secretarial, or administrative support experience.
This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of shipping and receiving.
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
Skill to maintain record keeping systems to include automated and manual data.
Ability to communicate clearly with varied audiences.
Ability to travel frequently.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist with cataloging into the permanent library database.
2. Identify and process discrepancies in purchase orders, inventories, shipments and deliveries.
3. Assist in the maintenance and bindery of books.
4. Communicate with vendors regarding shipping discrepancies and verification of invoices.
5. Assist in maintaining fiscal budget records.

6. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
7. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at locations of work assignment.
8. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
9. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.

Environmental Demands:
Work inside and outside, noise, radiant/electrical energy, work alone, work with others, around machines with moving parts and objects, possible exposure to microwaves in use, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
