Technology Clerk/Receptionist
The position of a Technology Clerk/Receptionist will be available immediately at the East Central ISD. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline. The deadline for submitting an application is until the position is filled.
POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE: To greet, assist and provide direction to clients, visitors and other guests of the Technology Department. To provide purchasing/receiving support for district technology purchases made by various campuses and departments. To maintain an inventory of technology parts used to expedite critical repairs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person's visit and directs/escorts them appropriately.
- Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access.
- Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.
- Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.
- Performs filing and records management; paper and digital.
- Work with vendors to create and update quotes for technology purchases.
- Contact vendors to check on the availability of items.
- Maintain an internal price sheet for district technology items to be purchased by various campuses and departments.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, receiving slips, and finance memos.
- Submit completed PO's to vendors to initiate district technology purchases.
- Receive and unpack materials; check transmittal papers against items received and store incoming materials and equipment.
- Coordinate the return and replacement of defective items.
- Create tickets to assign the work of preparation and deployment of new technology items.
- Maintain orderliness of the stockroom and replenish supply bins; check shelf markers and clean assigned areas.
- Maintain and regularly audit an inventory of technology items needed to expedite the repair of classroom technology equipment.
- Analyze stock replenishment requirements and make recommendations on needed adjustments.
- Conduct inventory of supplies and equipment; maintain stock and inventory levels using online data terminals.
- Process charge-backs for used inventory items following business office procedures.
- Extract a variety of lists and reports including inventory discrepancies and missing items.
- Maintain material data records; maintain records of acquisition, transfer, and disposal.
- Prepare/Setup the technology training room for all scheduled meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
***** On-Task Responsibilities:
- The Clerk/Receptionist must have the ability to follow attendance procedures, including clocking in and out, according to department and district regulations and policies.
- The Clerk/Receptionist must have the ability to use time effectively and to stay on-task during the entire day.
- The Clerk/Receptionist must be capable of accurately documenting time on tasks, tickets, and other duties.
- On occasion, as needed by the department, the Clerk/Receptionist shall work non-standard hours and/or overtime.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or GED
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work independently
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions, including answering multiple lines. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; frequent repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching. Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds). Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 days
SALARY: Pay Grade 404
