Sentry View Systems is an innovative engineering company headquartered in Melbourne, Florida with additional locations in Montana, North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. We are currently seeking a Software Configuration Manager based in our HQ in Melbourne.

The Software Configuration Manager is a full-time, exempt position responsible for developing and maintaining the tools and processes for an enterprise-level configuration management system. This includes integrating Configuration Management tools with the Agile processes and build/deployment tools to create and support the operations and automated builds, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) efforts, and containerizing applications-experience working within DoD compliance, as well as Configuration Management industry standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Develop and maintain Configuration Management policies, processes, plans, and procedures according to industry standards and best practices
- Perform Software Configuration Management
- Serve as an expert in containerized applications
- Analyze and troubleshoot configuration problems promptly
- Maintain documentation of build processes for future reference purposes
- Communicate system configuration status to management and client regularly
- Maintain and enforce configuration management policies and procedures
- Manage and coordinate change management of product and contract deliverable baselines
- Attending customer, kick-off, configuration, and production meetings as needed, facilitating change management meetings
- Ensure configuration management complies with the AS9100 quality management system

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field. At least five years of configuration management experience.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS:
CM Certification is desired but optional.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and produce systems engineering documentation including requirements documents, design documents, test documents, and reports; must be able to proofread and edit engineering and user manuals. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and peers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY
Must have at least a university-level understanding of arithmetic. Must be able to solve complex logical problems, understand the processes and solutions used well enough to be able to communicate those to other staff members.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
- Experience with and competency in MS Office suite products and multiple operating systems - Windows, Linux, Mac
- Experience with various development/build environments and CM build tools
- Sound knowledge of Software Configuration management and software development life cycle
- Competency in the generation of Change Management Plans
- Understanding and practice experience with CMM/CMMI, AS9100 process environment
- Experience with design, management, and maintenance tools to automate configuration processes using CM tools, techniques, libraries, and products
- Experience with GIT, Bamboo, Jira, Confluence, Docker, containers, Kubernetes, and Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure preferred)
