Position Description:
The purpose of the Software Associate Product Manager position is to manage the projects and execution of software objectives, strategies, programs for select software products and services for the organization.
Major Areas of Responsibility/Essential Functions:
· Research new software products, features, bug fixes, and enhancements for roadmap development
· Translates the software product vision into specific projects, action plans, and tactics
· Guide the conceptualization, product requirements, acceptance criteria, process flow charts for both our Print OEM software applications, mobile apps, and SDKs
· Ensure that the product delivery schedules and tasks related to all aspects of product development are coordinated with stakeholders to successfully release new products on time and within budget
· Develop sales tools with marketing to drive the promotion and adoption of software products
· Provide support to global Print OEM Sales and Tech Support teams
· Conduct competitive analysis and evaluate market trends to identify areas of differentiation to enhance the value of our software applications
Specific Responsibilities:
· Gathers and analyzes information to identify new software products, feature enhancements, and customers in the Print OEM market
· Participate in meetings with the software engineering team to discuss priority projects, specifications, timelines for implementation, delivery schedules, and deadlines
· Collaborate with Marketing to develop sales enablement and promotional collateral
· Provide training and support to sales to increase software product adoption within new and existing customers
· Prioritize new product requests and feature enhancements based on the market need and organization’s strategy
· Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to assess the success of the Print OEM software product portfolio
· Continuously identify new opportunities to enhance the Product Management delivery practices
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Proven success in developing software product roadmaps and executing product launches
· Collaborative, driven, analytical, and innovative, with excellent attention to detail
· Excellent project management, organization, and time management skills
· Exceptional communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
· Self-starter who works well in a team environment consisting of in-house and external development resources
· Ability to pick up technical and business concepts quickly
· Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in software product management, marketing, pricing, and selling
· Familiarity and experience working with Windows, Linux, and Android operating systems is preferred
· Knowledge of Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence) is preferred
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
· 2-4 years of software product management experience or similar role leveraging Agile software development methodologies (Kanban, Scrum)
· Software development experience is a plus
· Software product management experience supporting computing endpoints/peripherals and mobile apps is a plus
