Our client, a well-established real estate firm in Carlsbad, is looking for a skilled professional to join their team. Their portfolio includes retail centers, office buildings, industrial complexes, and land for future development. This position is in the office four days per week (remote on Fridays).
The ideal candidate needs to be a strong multitasker with extensive property accounting experience. This position entails review and oversight of the assigned properties, plus financial accounting for the corporate entities and the hierarchy of investment-level partnerships that control the operating properties.
Senior Accountant
Carlsbad, CA
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000, plus bonus
Essential details of this position:
· Manage property accounting process for a portfolio of commercial, multi-tenant, real estate properties.
· Audit and review financial statements, examine the general ledger account activity, reconcile accounts, maintain asset and liabilities schedules, confirm subledger activity ties out to the general ledger, record journal entries, and close the books.
· Review assigned CAM reconciliations.
· Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis.
· Calculate and process asset management fees, construction management fees, supervisory fees, and leasing commissions.
· Remit timely property tax payments for assigned parcels. Track the due dates and completed payments.
· Finalize and prepare periodic financial statements.
· Put together annual reporting packages for the tax CPAs, for assigned portfolio.
· Enter and post intercompany transactions; reconcile intercompany accounts.
· Additional ad hoc projects as assigned.
What we are looking for in a candidate:
· Accounting degree required.
· Minimum four (4) years of experience.
· Property Accountant and/or Senior Accountant experience.
· Yardi software experience, highly desired.
